- Project Engineer – Multidisciplined

 At Catesby Projects, we support customer programmes across a range of international sectors including: motorsport, automotive and elite sport. From concept phase to final design, working at Catesby Projects will be varied and challenging as we push engineering boundaries across multiple sectors.

 We are looking for a Project Engineer who will be supporting both new programmes and the ongoing evolution of existing programmes as we grow our design team to meet demand. You will support various multidisciplined projects to ensure smooth delivery of programmes for our customers.  Programme’s are likely to include an Olympic track cycling and automotive/motorsport projects.  The role will be varied and we are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Project work on a range of applications including elite sport, automotive and motorsport.
  • Working in a multidisciplined design team to deliver results to the customers.
  • Project and programme management, including budgeting.  
  • Design work and review.
  • Managing of suppliers from RFQ to delivery.
  • Support with testing programs (aero or physical).
  • Assisting with surfacing requirements for sporting, automotive and motorsport development projects.

You:

A mechanical engineering with industry experience and a passion for a variety of disciplines including motorsport, automotive and elite sport.

A minimum of 5 years industrial experience.

Be eligible to work in the UK.

 

Ideally you will be:

  • Experienced in helping deliver multidisciplined projects.
  • Ambitious and want to help grow Catesby Projects.
  • Confident in working with customers and understanding their requirements.
  • CAD proficient in both surface and solid modelling.
  • Previous experience in prototyping and manufacturing processes.
  • Previous experience in the automotive sector is desirable.
  • Knowledge of aerodynamics and automotive testing is desirable.

- Design Engineer

At Catesby Projects we support customer programmes across a range of international sectors including: motorsport, automotive, and elite sport. From concept phase to final design, working at Catesby Projects will be varied and challenging as we push engineering boundaries across multiple sectors.

We are looking for a Design Engineer who will be supporting both new programmes and the ongoing evolution of existing programmes as we grow our design team to meet known demand. You will be CAD proficient in both surface and solid modelling. Ideally, you will also have previous experience with rapid prototyping and other manufacture processes.  Experience in FEA or composites design would also be advantageous.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Design work on a range of applications including elite sport, automotive and motorsport.
  • Working in a multidisciplined design team, helping with other areas such as 3D printing and 3D scanning.
  • Concept design of 3D printed parts, supporting production and assembly.
  • Production of 3D CAD, as set out in the design specification.
  • Assisting with surfacing requirements for sporting, automotive and motorsport development projects.
  • Refinement of design to final CAD assemblies, component design and associated detailed drawings.
  • Processing of 3D scans.
  • Following the releasing of parts and assembly structures into rapid prototyping or production.
  • Assisting with maintenance of 3D printers and printing of parts.

 

You:

An engineering graduate with industry experience and a passion for a variety of disciplines including motorsport, automotive and elite sport. Ideally you will have knowledge of rapid prototyping and 3D scanning.

You will be proficient in Catia V5 design software or equivalent.  Experience in 3D scanning, 3D printing, or FEA software would be advantageous but not essential.

You will want to work on a variety of applications in a small but growing team.  A hands on and desire to ‘get stuck in’ is essential.

- Senior Design Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer who will lead both new programmes and the ongoing evolution of existing programmes as we grow our design team to meet known demand. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient and proactive, with a desire to help grow the business. Candidates must be CAD proficient in both surface and solid modelling, and ideally will also have experience with rapid prototyping and other manufacture processes.  Experience in FEA or composites design would also be advantageous.

 

Key responsibilities:
  • Carrying out design work on a range of applications including elite sport, automotive and motorsport.
  • Leading a multi-disciplined design team, overseeing junior engineers in other areas such as 3D printing and 3D scanning.
  • Design of 3D printed parts, supporting production and assembly.
  • Production of 3D CAD, as set out in the design specification.
  • Assisting with surfacing requirements for sporting, automotive and motorsport development projects.
  • Refinement of design to final CAD assemblies, component design and associated detailed drawings.
  • Working with 3D scan data.
  • Following the releasing of parts and assembly structures into rapid prototyping or production.
You:
